A large village downstream and neighboring Brogg, Grohen is made up of mostly dwarves, dragonborn and halflings. A large number of artisans live in Grohen, using the materials fed to them by Brogg in exchange for finished goods. A large guild known as the Dureb Guild controls much of the production of many manufactured goods. Members of the Dureb Guild are known to hold extensive networks in Brogg as well, thus, keeping any imperialistic tendencies from the larger city-state at bay. Some of the finest craftsmanship comes from Grohen, which Brogg claims as its own, and in turn, Brogg provides protection for Grohen. The village has been rebuilt several times, as it has always been one of the first targets whenever Rosett and Brogg come to blows over the Paldeu River. The last time, Grohen built the extensive, large and impressively thick Grohen Walls, made of sheer metal.
Rumor has it that Grohen runesmiths have discovered a method in manipulating metal with magic and movements of the hand, though the runesmiths deny any such allegations. However, soldiers have returned from the battlefield telling tall tales of runesmiths who could supposedly make metal fly out of their hands, or cause swords to whirl about on their own with the flick of a wrist. Whether or not this is true has yet to be confirmed. Grohen is led by the dragonborn runesmith Kalgar, leader of the Dureb Guild.
