The river has been the site for many settlements; notably, all three of the city-states were founded on the banks of the Paldeu River. Recently, the northernmost city-state Brogg has been accused by its southern city-state neighbor Rosett of dumping runoff from smelting and smithy operations, poisoning the water supply. Several skirmishes between the two city-states have occurred over this disputation, and it is the matter causing current tensions between them today.
While most of the Paldeu River is peaceful, flooding infrequently and flowing slowly enough for the construction of sturdy bridges, the most southern end of the river emptying into the sea is home to vicious tribes of lizardmen. These lizardmen claim to be the true descendants of Bahamut and the Dragonian Empire and are extremely jealous of the other races’ success in settling the land.
