Located at the foothills of the Altier Mountains, Willan is famous for its output of Dragonian artifacts. Several ruins lie next to Willan, and it is constantly filled with traveling merchants, scholars, mercenaries, scouts, agents and adventurers, all willing to help explore, excavate and secure the Dragonian ruins around the village.
Willan remains independent due to the shrewd bargaining power of its leader, the Consul Fealin, a halfling of strong charisma and force of will. Due to some tricky maneuvering, Fealin managed to sign treaties with all three city-states, allowing them safe and orderly access to the ruins around it in exchange for its independence. The city-states grudgingly agreed, when faced with outright war in an attempt to control the ruins and the study of them. Still, Willan remains a rough place to live, faced with quick assassinations and intrigue, all to undermine competitors trying to find the ruins and discover their secrets first. While many travels pass through, the standing population remains around 5,500 souls, made up of all kinds of races.
